    New Bridgestone Tyre

They are replacing the BT014 with the BT016 - a triple compound tyre. The compounds are from BT020 / BT014 and BT002 (or equivalents).

Should be an interesting tyre. I can't wait to try it.

    Re: New Bridgestone Tyre

I think they were falling behind in terms of marketing the product too. Most other tyre companies have a duel or triple compound road tyre now and Bridgestone are still on a fairly old tyre. I suspect that the sucesses in the motoGP have helped to sell road tyres in the same way that Ducati have seen a rise in sales this year.

The new tyre isn't expected to go on sale until March 2008 so I'll probably need to fit another set of 014s before then but it'll be interesting to try them out.

Apart from their resilience to nails and screws, I've been happy with my 014s

    Re: New Bridgestone Tyre

As you say I think Bridgestone needed to get a duel / triple compound tyre on the market is the main reason for the launch and it could nt come at a better time for them what with all the motogp publicity.

I fancy a pair of the Diabl o Rosso next though Yes

    Re: New Bridgestone Tyre

They're just copying Mitchelin of course cos alot of people are using them due to their life span and stickiness. 014s go very quickly in the middle when there's plenty life left yet on the edges and the 2CTs last 1000 miles more cos of that.

    Re: New Bridgestone Tyre

After over 3.5 k miles on the 016's the tyres are holding up well.

There is and has always been more than enough grip in all conditions with these tyres and they have worn really well.

After several months and over 3.5k miles they still have plently of tread left and there is hardly any sign of squaring off that I normally see.

It looks like if anything these tyres should last longer than previous tyres but with more grip on the side. I would highly recommend these tyres for all types of road riding (and probably track use too but I can't vouch for that myself).

    Re: New Bridgestone Tyre

I've not used mine much since the track day - keep getting injured from footy and making it difficult to ride (I'm actually cycling to work as i cant bend my ankle so cant use car or motorbike)

I want to have a few more good rides before the shit weather comes. But at least being injured means I have my sundays off to recoop and can go out on the bike. (and got my wheelie school in 3 weeks).
