Very tidy install, where will the recording device be?

Nice one - I dunno if I could have brought myself to cutting up the fairing. It looks from those pics that it might point a bit too much toward the tyre - but until its on i guess its hard to tell.  I look forward to seeing the results.

Sorry dunno what you mean for the software. Cant you simply link the camera to the laptop with a usb and record onto the hard disk by playing on the camera?

The recording device will be in the boot. I've got an AV extension cable, heatproofed and running inside the bike from front to back. The connections are cable tied to the top of the air intake and the other end comes out by the coolant expansion tank in the boot - photos above in the thread.

    Test ride coming soon!!

Alignment will be my only issue. I lined up the fairing whilst it was on the bike and noticed that there are two converging lines above and below the indicator. These two lines converge to point at a good angle so I've used that as a guide for the camera. The mounting mould I've made is attached with velcro so I can move it about a bit and the camera has foam padded tape which can be used for the minor adjustments. Only a test ride will really tell me how good it is or not.

...and cutting fairings is much easier when you've got a spare ;) I got a pair of these from someone on d6.org. Managed to balls one up and had the confidence to get it right on the original. Still looking for a spare if anyone has one though.

A very cheap substitute to biek camera. Quality doesnt look as good but still looks ok. Also records sound. Someone may find a use for it other than on the bike

Works out at around £16, reliable site, have ordered from there many times. Some very bright torches on the site at a reasonable cost too.
