So.... does anyone believe this will be a good thing in the long run?

I guess it's going to even things out a bit for next year but the claims of making everyone slower are hard to believe unless they go with Dunlop or Michelin.

Will it slow down development? Will all teams be on an equal playing field? or will the top teams get the better tyres?

Ultimately this has got to effect the road market too. Would we be getting multi compound tyres filtering into the road / track day market if they weren't being developed at the top level?

There was a very scathing article about motogp and where it's going in BIKE mag recently...says it's going exactly the way of F1, with riders cut off from the press and fans...loads of money going in but none invested in the future of the sport...not painting a very bright future at all.

In some ways you can see it now...take Rossi out and what do you have left? A lot of overpaid, underperforming, Corporate puppets!

What's with the Rossi worshipping?  Why does he escape any scathing attacks? I never understand it.  I agree he's a great rider - but never understood why in peoples eyes he can do no wrong. Over paid?  What about  all that tax evasion of his?  How much was it he owed? And that's just tax!!! under performing? I think Casey is doing a pretty good job on the Ducati. Well at least compared to anyone else riding it I mean.

I think all professional riders are wankers, but only cause i am extremely jealous of them

Yes - he's a brilliant (understatement) rider.

But he has a personality - he really seems to enjoy having fans & showing off to them.

Most of the other GP guys are so miserable.

Whether they realise or not, if people didn't go to watch them racing, then it wouldn't happen

I'm sure we would all be miserable if we were beaten by an Alfred E. Neuman lookalike every fortnight

Rossi enjoys his racing..i'm not sure that's true of some of the others!

Ultimately, i go to watch to enjoy it...it the riders don't seem to be enjoying it then it doesn't seem much like entertainment to me!
